Message From Superiors

Dear Friends and Well-Wishers,
Peace and blessings to you!

It gives me immense joy to greet you from Loyola Degree College, Manvi—a mission close to the heart of the Karnataka Jesuit Province, rooted in the transformative vision of St. Ignatius of Loyola and the liberating message of Jesus Christ.

Our vision is to be Companions of Jesus, walking hand in hand with people of goodwill to build a vibrant, enlightened, just, value-based, and dignified human community. This vision is not just an aspiration—it is a lived reality, especially in our commitment to the most vulnerable and marginalized in society.

At Loyola, our mission calls us to work for the liberation of Dalits, tribals, children, youth, devadasis, women, and migrants through evangelization, education, and empowerment. In this region of Kalyana Karnataka, where historical injustices still cast long shadows, our presence is a sign of hope and healing. We believe that education is not just about acquiring knowledge but about forming hearts and transforming lives.

The Jesuit legacy of education is built on the cornerstone of character formation, inspired by the spiritual heritage of St. Ignatius. It challenges both staff and students to rise above mediocrity and pursue excellence—not just for personal success, but for the greater good of society. We aim to form conscientious, compassionate, and committed individuals who live for others, especially those on the margins.

As Superior of this mission, I express my deepest gratitude to all those—staff, students, parents, collaborators, and benefactors—who continue to walk with us in faith and solidarity. Let us remain united in our resolve to create a world where dignity, justice, and love prevail.

May God's grace continue to guide us in all our efforts.

With prayerful wishes,
Fr. Leo Pereira SJ

Message From Principals of the College

Dear Students, Parents, and Well-Wishers,
Warm greetings from Loyola Degree College, Manvi!

It is with great joy and a deep sense of responsibility that I welcome you to this vibrant institution rooted in the Ignatian spirit and guided by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Loyola Degree College was born out of a noble vision viz. to be a Companion of Jesus, united with people of goodwill in building a vibrant, enlightened, just, value-based, and dignified human community. This vision continues to inspire everything we do.

Our mission is clear and purposeful: to work towards the liberation of the marginalized — Dalits, tribals, women, children, youth, devadasis, and migrants — through evangelization, education, and empowerment. In a region that has historically faced socio-economic challenges, our college stands as a beacon of hope, inclusion, and transformation.

Inspired by the Jesuit tradition and the spiritual wisdom of St. Ignatius of Loyola, we are committed to nurturing individuals who are intellectually competent, morally sound, and socially committed. Our approach to education goes beyond academics. We strive for the formation of the whole person — mind, heart, and spirit — to help our students become "men and women for and with others."

Loyola Degree College offers a unique educational environment where faith and reason walk hand in hand, where learning is deeply connected with life, and where students are encouraged to dream big and work tirelessly toward creating a more just and humane society.

I invite each one of you — students, parents, alumni, and friends — to journey with us in this mission. Let us work together in shaping responsible citizens and compassionate leaders who will build bridges of peace, justice, and fraternity in our world.

May God bless you all in abundance.

With warm regards,
Fr. Vinod Paul SJ
