A one-day Social Awareness Training Workshop was conducted at Loyola Degree College, Manvi, in collaboration with the Azim Premji Foundation, Manvi. The workshop aimed to train and prepare students who will be participating in the upcoming two-day social awareness programme titled “Our Village, Our Responsibility: Youth Awareness Camp” to be held at Harvi village. The main purpose of the training was to equip students with the necessary communication, leadership, and teamwork skills to effectively engage with the rural community and spread awareness on various social issues. During the workshop, trainers from the Azim Premji Foundation conducted several interactive and practical sessions to help students understand how to convey social messages through creative means. A total of 40 students participated in the training, and they were divided into four groups based on their areas of contribution during the camp. The Cultural Group was trained to perform songs, dances, and other cultural activities carrying important social messages. The Poster Presentation Group prepared posters on different social themes and learned how to present them effectively to the villagers. The Drama Group practiced short skits highlighting issues such as education, hygiene, gender equality, and environmental protection. Meanwhile, the Crafts Group focused on creative craft activities to engage government school students and promote learning through fun. The workshop provided the students with valuable exposure to teamwork, public interaction, and social responsibility. It boosted their confidence and creativity while making them more aware of their role in community development. Overall, the one-day training programme was a great success, serving as a preparatory platform for the “Our Village, Our Responsibility” Youth Awareness Camp. The combined efforts of the Azim Premji Foundation, Manvi, and Loyola Degree College played a vital role in empowering the youth to become active agents of social change. Date: 30-09-2025
