    • 15 Oct 2025

A three-day Social Awareness Camp was organized by the Azim Premji Foundation in collaboration with Loyola Degree College, Manvi, from 3rd to 5th October 2025 at Harvi Village. The camp aimed to sensitize students to various social issues and promote active participation in community development. A total of 48 students took part in the programme, coordinated by Mr. Prashanth, Mr. Joel Joseph, Mr. Raghu, and Ms. Sandhya, with valuable support from the Azim Premji Foundation team. The camp began with an orientation session introducing students to the objectives and activities planned for the following days. The second day featured a “Prabhat Pheri” to raise awareness on child marriage, child labour, and girl child education, followed by a street play highlighting rural challenges in banking access, and an Art and Craft session for village children. Students also presented educational posters and participated in a cultural evening of skits, dances, and songs. The final day included a cleanliness drive at the village temple, bus stand, and government school, promoting hygiene and community responsibility, along with a career guidance session by Mr. Mehboob Madlapur. The camp concluded with a valedictory ceremony graced by Mr. Shiva Shankarayya, where participants shared their reflections and received certificates. The initiative successfully fostered social awareness, teamwork, and civic responsibility among students, inspiring them to contribute meaningfully to society.
