Loyola College, Manvi Celebrates 'Janapada Jatre 2025' with Cultural Grandeur On December 3, 2025, the Kannada Sangha of Loyola Degree College, Manvi, organized a vibrant "Janapada Jatre" (Folk Festival) to honor and revive the rich folk heritage of Karnataka. The college campus was transformed into a traditional village, featuring authentic displays of thatched huts, bullock carts, rural wells, and farming tools, creating an immersive cultural atmosphere. The festivities commenced with the rhythmic beats of Tamate and Dollu, followed by a series of soul-stirring folk performances. Students and faculty participated in group singing and traditional dance performances to iconic folk tracks such as "Sojugada Sooju Mallige" and "Chellidaru Malligeya." Beyond the cultural showcase, the event served as a platform to honor academic achievers with merit certificates and to officially launch the Loyola Media Team's branded T-shirts. Spearheaded by the Kannada Department, the event aimed to instill rural values and the spirit of "living and sharing together" in the younger generation. The celebration was attended by the management, faculty, and students of Loyola institutions, successfully bridging the gap between modern education and ancestral wisdom.
