  • Loyola Degree College Conducts Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll Awareness Programme

    Loyola Degree College, Manvi, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) and the Electoral Literacy Club (ELC), organized an awareness programme on the Special Summary Revision of the Electoral Roll to promote voter awareness and encourage active participation in the democratic process. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Shrikant Bagevadi, Education Coordinator, Office of the Block Education Officer (BEO), Manvi. Addressing the students, he highlighted the importance of ensuring that every eligible citizen is included in the electoral roll. He explained that the Special Summary Revision is an initiative of the Election Commission of India to update the voter list by enrolling eligible citizens, correcting electoral details, and removing ineligible entries. He emphasized that every eligible citizen should verify their voter registration and exercise their constitutional right to vote. Presiding over the programme, Mr. Kasim Saab, Vice Principal of Loyola Degree College, stressed the significance of every vote in strengthening democracy. He encouraged students and the public to make effective use of the revision drive by verifying their names and correcting any errors in the electoral roll. The programme was attended by Mr. Devanna, Mr. Prashanth, and Ms. Pratibha Chaitra, who were present as programme coordinators. The event commenced with a prayer song by Ranjitha and team, followed by a welcome address by Pramod. Sana efficiently compered the programme, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Arogya. The awareness programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers, members of the Electoral Literacy Club, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and a large number of students, reaffirming the institution's commitment to promoting democratic values and responsible citizenship.
