Manvi, 25 July 2026: Loyola Degree College, Manvi, successfully conducted the Student Council Election – 2K26 in a free, fair, and transparent manner, reaffirming its commitment to promoting democratic values, student leadership, and active participation in institutional governance. The election was held through the Secret Ballot System using ballot papers, providing every eligible student with an equal opportunity to exercise their democratic right to vote. The election was organized under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Vinod Paul SJ, Principal, with Mr. Khaseem serving as the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) and Mr. Prashanth as the Election Coordinator. The Election Committee, comprising the Heads of all Departments, faculty members, office staff, and student volunteers, efficiently managed every stage of the electoral process, including the scrutiny of nominations, preparation of voter lists, polling arrangements, vote counting, and declaration of results. As per the election schedule, nominations were accepted until 21 July 2026, candidates were permitted to withdraw their nominations on 22 July 2026, and the election symbols were finalized on 23 July 2026. Polling was conducted peacefully on 25 July 2026 at Loyola Hall, with enthusiastic participation from students across all programmes. Following the completion of polling, the sealed ballot boxes were moved to the Conference Hall, where votes were counted transparently under the supervision of the Election Committee in the presence of the candidates and their representatives. Based on the counting of valid votes, Mr. Varun of B.Sc. V Semester was elected as the President, securing 111 votes, while Mr. Ajaya of BCA III Semester was elected as the Vice President, securing 96 votes. The results were officially declared by the Election Committee after the successful completion of the counting process. Congratulating the newly elected office bearers, Rev. Fr. Vinod Paul SJ, Principal, appreciated the disciplined participation of the students and the dedicated efforts of the Election Committee in conducting the election smoothly and transparently.
