  • 80th Independence Day Celebration at Loyola Institutions

    Manvi | 15 August 2026 The Loyola Group of Educational Institutions, Manvi, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great patriotic spirit and enthusiasm. Students, faculty and staff came together to commemorate the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and celebrate the values of freedom, unity and service. The programme began with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem. Students and NCC cadets presented an impressive march-past, adding dignity and patriotic fervour to the occasion. Tributes were also paid to the great freedom fighters who dedicated their lives to India's independence. The Chief Guest, Dr. T. Roni, Chief Planning Officer, Raichur Zilla Panchayat, addressed the gathering and emphasised that true patriotism is reflected through sincerity, discipline and responsible citizenship. He encouraged students to respect the Constitution, perform their duties sincerely and contribute to the development of the nation. He also highlighted the importance of inclusive development and equal opportunities for all. Fr. Cyril Raj, Director of Loyola School, inspired the students with the message: “Freedom is Heritage, Education makes us Free, Service is a Promise, Liberate India, Serve India.” He reminded students that education should go beyond employment and should develop knowledge, values, confidence and a spirit of service. He encouraged them to use their talents and education for the betterment of society, especially in serving the poor and vulnerable. The celebration was attended by members of the Loyola educational community, including Fr. Allan Benniss, Principal of Xavier School; Sr. Juliet Montero, Headmistress of Loyola School; Fr. Vinod Paul, Director of Loyola Degree College; and the Principal of Loyola Pre-University College. The celebration concluded with a renewed commitment to patriotism, responsible citizenship, education and service to the nation.
