The Department of Botany, Loyola College, Manvi conducted an experiential learning activity for the fifth-semester students on the collection and preservation of angiosperm plant specimens for the preparation of a herbarium. The activity provided students with hands-on exposure to the process of collecting, identifying, preserving, and systematically arranging plant specimens. Through practical participation, the students gained a better understanding of herbarium techniques and the importance of preserving plant diversity for academic and scientific study. All the students participated actively and enthusiastically in the activity. The programme served as an effective platform for connecting classroom learning with practical experience and helped students develop essential skills in botanical specimen collection and preservation.
