The Department of Commerce, Loyola College, Manvi organized a special talk titled “Tax Talk: What Every B.Com Student Should Know” on 9th September 2026 at Loyola Hall. The programme was organized with the objective of providing B.Com students with practical knowledge and greater awareness of taxation and its relevance to their academic and professional lives. The session was led by Mr. Jaya Prakash, a proud alumnus of Loyola College from the B.Com 2015–2018 batch and the Founder of JP Solutions. Drawing from his professional experience, he provided students with practical insights into key concepts of GST and Income Tax, explaining their applications through relevant examples and real-life situations. The resource person highlighted the significant role of taxation in business operations, financial transactions, and professional life. The interactive nature of the session enabled students to relate their classroom concepts to practical situations and gain a clearer understanding of how taxation operates in the real world. The programme proved to be a valuable learning experience for the students, enhancing their understanding of taxation and its practical relevance to their future careers. The initiative also reflected the Department of Commerce’s commitment to providing students with industry-oriented and experiential learning opportunities.
