Loyola Institutions, Manvi observed Kalyana Karnataka Liberation Day on 17th September 2026 at Arrupe Hall, organized by the NSS Unit of Loyola College, Manvi. The programme aimed to commemorate the historic liberation of the region and create awareness among students about its history, heritage, and social responsibilities. The programme commenced with flag hoisting by Rev. Fr. Shantharaj A., SJ, Field Officer, Loyola Social Concern Centre, Manvi. The event was presided over by Rev. Fr. Cyprian Tellis, SJ, Superior, Loyola Institutions. Several dignitaries, including Rev. Fr. Vinod Paul, SJ, Principal of Loyola College, along with the heads and principals of the Loyola Institutions, were present. The dignitaries paid floral tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Mahatma Gandhi, and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. Students presented a prayer song and speeches highlighting the history, cultural heritage, and significance of Kalyana Karnataka Liberation Day. In his address, Rev. Fr. Shantharaj, SJ emphasized the values of unity, equality, justice, and social responsibility. He encouraged students to develop leadership qualities, stand against injustice, and contribute actively to the development of society. In his presidential address, Rev. Fr. Cyprian Tellis, SJ stressed that the true development of Kalyana Karnataka requires sustained efforts in education, healthcare, employment, and social justice. He encouraged students to become active contributors to the region’s progress. The programme served as a meaningful occasion to remember the region’s history while inspiring students towards responsible citizenship, social concern, leadership, and community development.
